November 13, 2012, 7:00 pm
at Public Assembly

Hatchet Job is a monthly reading series in which poets of all persuasions burn the fields to stave off the weevil and read in a dark room with alcohol. It’s free, same as you. But the hooch’ll cost you. Friends, join us one week after election day for Hatchet Job XI. No matter what happens it’ll be cause for a pour. Sandra Liu is the author of On Poems On. Her work can be found in 1913, Hoboeye, and the Beloit Poetry Journal. She currently provides guidance for science & arts grantees at the poles and in New York City. Ken Chen is the author of Juvenilia. His work has appeared in Field, Pleiades, Barrow Street, Palimpsest, and elsewhere. He is the Executive Director of the Asian American Writers' Workshop. Cate Marvin is the author of World’s Tallest Disaster, Fragment of the Head of a Queen, and a forthcoming third book in 2013. With Michael Dumanis, she is the editor of Legitimate Dangers, and recent poems have appeared in New England Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Tin House. Thomas Sayers Ellis is the author of The Maverick Room and Skin, Inc. His work has appeared in Best American Poetry, Grand Street, Jubilat, Tin House, Poetry, and The Nation, and he is the poetry editor at The Baffler. Hosted by Danniel Schoonebeek.   More info here
