In celebration of the recent UDP release of 60 Morning Talks, a book of interviews with contemporary poets across aesthetics, Andy Fitch will be hosting this reading followed by live conversations with visiting poets Joel Craig, Rob Halpern, Hoa Nguyen, Dale Smith, and Tyrone Williams.Joel Craig is the author of The White House (Green Lantern Press, 2012). He edits poetry for MAKE: A Literary Magazine, and curates the Danny's Reading Series in Chicago, IL.Andy Fitch’s new UDP books are 60 Morning Talks, and 60 Morning Walks. He has books forthcoming from 1913, Subito, and Letter Machine Editions. He edits Essay Press and The Conversant, and teaches at University of Wyoming.Rob Halpern, is a professor of English at EMU, and author of three collections of poetry, will read from his forthcoming book, Common Place (UDP, 2014).Hoa Nquyen was born in the Mekong Delta and raised in the Washington, D.C. area. She studied Poetics at New College of California in San Francisco. Her most recent book is As Long As Trees Last (Wave, 2012). With the poet Dale Smith, Nguyen founded Skanky Possum, a small press journal of poetry and poetics. She teaches at Ryerson University, Toronto.Dale Smith has published several books of poetry and criticism, including Slow Poetry in America (Cuneiform, 2014) and Poets Beyond the Barricade: Rhetoric, Citizenship, and Dissent after 1960 (Alabama, 2012). He is on the faculty of the department of English at Ryerson University, Toronto.Tyrone Williams is the author of five books of poetry, c.c., On Spec, The Hero Project of the Century, The Adventures of Pi, and Howell, as well as several chapbooks, including a prose eulogy, Pink Tie (Hooke Press).More info here.
