We celebrate Women History Month; continuing the spirit and inspiration of the January Women's March, we're inviting you to our Women's Reading on March 16th 2017. Sylvia Mae Gorelick Sophie Malleret Sharon Mesmer Yuko Otomo Nicole Peyrafitte Joanna C Valente Sylvia Mae Gorelick is a poet, writer, and translator based in New York City. Her chapbooks include Olympians, we are breathless (Poetry will be made by all!, 2014) and Seven Poems for Bill Berkson (Kostro Editions, 2009). Her work has appeared in various anthologies including In|Filtration (Station Hill, 2016) and For Bill, Anything (Pressed Wafer, 2015). The University of Chicago Press published her translation of Nietzsche’s Journey to Sorrento by Paolo D’Iorio in 2016, and her translation of Stéphane Mallarmé’s Le Livre is forthcoming from Exact Change Press. Sophie Malleret writer/performer originally from Paris read her poetry at Howl Festival, Bowery Poetry, Nuyorican Café, Amherst Library, New Museum, Reuben Foundation. In Paris, Prague “International Microfestival†, recently Williams Center for the Arts in NJ. Developing her bilingual French/English poems. Poems published in Vlak, Maintenent … Sharon Mesmer’s newest poetry collection is Greetings From My Girlie Leisure Place (Bloof Books). Four of her poems appear in Postmodern American Poetry: A Norton Anthology (2013). Fiction collections are Ma Vie à Yonago (Hachette), and In Ordinary Time and The Empty Quarter, both from Hanging Loose. Yuko Otomo: Japanese origin. A bilingual (Japanese & English) writer & a visual artist. She writes poetry, haiku, art criticism, travelogues & essays.
