Conference on Theoretical Theater (with Mike Taylor, and more)
September 6, 2013, 12:00 am
at Panoply Performance Laboratory

"Propositions, Proofs, Theorems, and Rebuttals: A Conference of Theoretical Theater" on September 6-13th. Co-organized by UDP editor Yelena Gluzman (Emergency Index, Emergency Playscripts) and Esther Neff. Including a plenary performance by Mike Taylor (author of not knowing, an Emergency Playscript forthcoming from UDP).The conference is being held to communally research how theorizing is performed. We use the word "the-ater" to frame performance modes that propose a way of seeing, or "the-ory." Therefore, at the core of this conference is performance. The conference begins with four plenary presentations, all in the form of performances. Each of these will be followed by a moderated discussion. Performances and texts by invited conference participants the following weekend will discuss, derail, and embody theater-as-theory. The conference is open to the public. Registration is required. Tickets and full info athttp://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/445167 The four plenary presenters are: Amapola Prada Reality Research Center (RRC) Kikuko Tanaka Mike Taylor Mike Taylor (not knowing, UDP, 2013) will be in the spotlight on September 8.1:00-4:00pm Mike Taylor / Plenary Performance Part I* 4:30-5:30pm Reality Research Center  / Moderated Discussion 6:00-7:00pm Mike Taylor / Plenary Performance Part II and Moderated Discussion Sites include: Glasshouse Project (246 Union Avenue, Brooklyn, NY) Panoply Performance Laboratory (104 Meserole Street) and elsewhere.
