Ugly Duckling Presse is staffed by a growing roster of volunteers and interns.

We also welcome volunteers on an as-needed, as-offered basis, usually on PRESSE DAYS (occasional Saturdays) during which we bind, assemble, pack, etc. You can sign up to receive notice of PRESSE DAYS by joining the Presse Day Mailing List. (Note, this email list will not duplicate our monthly book & event announcement; it’s just to keep in touch with people willing to volunteer.)

We are now accepting inquiries about the following Fall (Sep-Dec) 2010 internships:

Administrative/Editorial Internship
Two days per week (one weekday TBD + Saturday)
Be involved in all the day-to-day workings of a small press. Assist with editorial, publicity, fundraising and production projects. Sit at the main controls: the tricks of the trade are all here at UDP HQ.

Fundraising Internship
Two days per week (one weekday TBD + Saturday)
Work on grant writing, research, benefit planning, and spearheading our big benefit event this fall. Get your hands dirty in the Arts Funding world.

Publicity Internship
Two days per week (one weekday TBD + Saturday)
Be involved in everything from press releases to web updates, newsletters to special events, submitting for awards to building social networking. Help get the word out there about UPD projects and be involved in the NYC arts community.
